We’re embracing the future of financing

Traditionally, private companies like ours only raise capital from venture capital firms, family offices, institutional investors, and ultra high net worth individuals. Whether or not an investor can participate doesn’t just depend on their financial status; it’s all about having the right connections.

We’ve said it before: at Fishbrain, it’s all about our community. That’s why we decided to set aside an allocation in our raise for any qualified investor to join us—not just Silicon Valley insiders or multibillion-dollar VC firms.

Investing in Fishbrain is simple. Here’s how:

1
Make sure you qualify to participate

Right now, we’re only able to accept investments from accredited investors in the US, due to SEC regulations. You may qualify based on your income, net worth, or profession. Click here for the easiest way to check on your status.

2
Create and verify an accredited investor account

In order to invest, you’ll need to sign up for a Republic account, which you can do by clicking here. To verify your accreditation status, go to the Settings page and click “Accreditation” in the left-hand navigation. From there, you can simply follow the prompts—and if you need extra guidance, check out this handy demo video from the Republic team.

3
Navigate to our fundraising page on Republic

This is where you’ll find all the information you need about Fishbrain, including the terms of our offering, our business model, our growth story, and much more. If you do decide to invest, just click the blue button and follow the on-screen instructions.

How do investors make money?

Fishbrain is a private company, which means any investment you make today will be illiquid until a qualifying exit event occurs, like an acquisition or IPO.

It’s a fluid process that can take anywhere from months to years, so you should always have a long-term mindset, and never invest capital you need returned right away. That being said, Fishbrain is currently raising its Series C funding round, meaning it’s a relatively mature business with demonstrated traction (and, in this case, top-tier VC backing).

So, while you should expect to hold your investment for a while, you can also rest assured that you’ll continue to receive updates and other communications along the way. We’ll notify you any time something big happens for Fishbrain, whether it’s a new funding round, updates to our business plan, or plans for an exit.

In the event that we do achieve an exit—like a merger, acquisition, or IPO—we’ll work with Republic to ensure that you have what you need to navigate the process of claiming any returns your investment may produce.

If at any time you have questions about your investment status, you can reach out to Republic’s Investor Relations team at investors@republic.com.
